Other PR skills without writing


What kind of skills are PR pro of today looking for in making decision before hiring.  As we all know, writing skills is a must but what else? What other skills are also needed?
According to “The Skills Employers Desire in Today’s PR Professional,” after asking agency owners, recruiters, and HR people across the industry they each have their own response.

Jorg Pierach, President of Fast Hors said, curiosity, because it makes people want to know more and learning is always a key factor in PR business.  Not just curiosity, but also story telling. If you can’t tell a story in that environment, you will be irrelevant.

Lisa Simon, vice-president of human resources at Weber Shandwick, said, finding links between online and traditional median and using those connections to expand the storytelling conversations. 


Rachel Kay, president of PKPR, said, being creative and resourceful. PR pros need to think outside the box and challenge clients to take risks and try new things. Also it is important to ensure our clients are getting the most from our communication.
